Self-Host Weekly (20 June 2025)

Weekly Highlights

Summer must finally be here (at least in the northern hemisphere) as it was a relatively slow week in self-hosted news. Aside from Netbird trending across the community, the most notable activity on my radar was a new community update for FileBrowser, the file management project that lost its original maintainers just a few weeks ago. (The open-source community does not disappoint.)

In the absence of other witty commentary on activity not already captured below (Immich still doesn't support tags on mobile??), a few selfh.st updates worth mentioning:

Happy selfh.st/ing!

Meet Homarr, a modern dashboard for self-hosted apps and services. With Homarr, users can easily configure a personal landing page of bookmarks, widgets, and monitoring tools (displaying various metrics and statistics via the platform's various third-party integrations). Features include a drag-and-drop interface, auto-discovery for Docker containers, SSO, real-time widget updates, extensive icon support, and more.

Homarr can be easily installed via Docker and doesn't require any additional containers to deploy (although third-party socket proxies are recommended).
