Weekly Highlights
The Immich team dropped a new single update this week titled Hot Summer Release (despite it not currently being summer in either hemisphere) that introduces some major database changes. Consider yourself warned to read the release notes before upgrading.
If you missed it, selfh.st (and my ongoing satirical feud with the Immich team) was also recently featured on Ars Technica, where I had the opportunity to sit down and chat about the current self-hosting landscape from the perspective of someone regularly immersed in it. (Once again fooling someone into believing I know what I'm talking about.)
Give it a read and let me know if you disagree with any of my takes:

In other news:
- Dawarich (location tracking) and DocuSeal (document signing) celebrated their first and second birthdays this week
- Authelia pulled a fast one on everyone with an ominously titled blog post (which has since been updated) announcing their OpenID Connect certification
- Home Assistant announced they're dropping support for Core and Supervised installation methods (note: no impact to container installations)
- Some Tailscale users learned the importance of enabling Tailnet Lock and device approvals
- Appwrite announced the launch of Appwrite Sites, which will allow projects to develop, build, and deploy their apps and sites directly within the ecosystem
Happy selfh.st/ing!

Meet Blinko, a self-hosted note-taking platform. Primarily intended for capturing and organizing fleeting thoughts, Blinko features a sticky note-like interface and leverages AI to make notes searchable via natural language queries. Features include tags, long-form note-taking capabilities, daily reviews, note sharing, and RSS feeds for public notes.
Blinko can be easily deployed via Docker and requires a separate PostgreSQL database for persistent storage.
