Weekly Highlights
I've spent more time than I care to admit this week mulling over quirky software update names (yes, that's a thing). OPNsense led the charge with their 25.7 release, Visionary Viper (???), followed closely by 69420 and Somebody to love from the Immich and Passbolt teams.
Of course, nothing beats GoToSocial's naming convention (currently on hiatus for the summer), which assigns an adjective to 'Sloth' and progressively intensifies the adjective with subsequent minor patches:
Scroingly Sloth --> Less Scroingly Sloth --> Least Scroingly Sloth --> Scroingless Sloth
In actual news, the team behind the personal finance app Maybe announced they're sunsetting the project and pivoting to B2B, as articulated in the release notes of the app's final update (tl;dr – finance development is hard, money is dry). Fortunately, there are plenty of viable alternatives to fill the void if you're a current user looking to make the jump.
Happy selfh.st/ing!

Meet LetterFeed, a self-hosted application for converting e-mail newsletters into RSS feeds. Unlike existing alternatives like Kill-the-Newsletter, LetterFeed configures itself to scan existing e-mail accounts for new mail based on user-defined rules and provides a corresponding RSS feed for each configuration (a single feed can contain any number of e-mail senders).
LetterFeed can be easily installed via Docker and requires both a frontend and backend service for deployment.
